Retreat room at Sanssouci Palatina

About Us

Sanssouci Palatina is a wellness and gastronomic retreat hotel in the historic Stiftsgut Keysermühle in Klingenmünster, in the heart of the Palatinate wine country.

This is a house for rest, retreat, good food, meaningful gathering, and the quiet pleasure of being well looked after. Guests come here to sleep deeply, eat generously, walk in the vineyards and forest, gather around the table, move gently, think clearly, create, recover, and return to themselves.

A house of Sanssouci Collection

Sanssouci Palatina is part of Sanssouci Collection, an independent hospitality group with more than 25 years of experience in boutique hotels, gastronomy, cultural travel, and intimate retreat hospitality. Our previous houses have welcomed guests, chefs, writers, artists, press, television crews, retreat leaders, and travellers from around the world.

Our work has been recognised across food, travel, design, fashion, lifestyle, and international press. This history matters because it reflects what we have always cared about: beautiful houses, generous hospitality, distinctive food, a strong sense of place, and experiences that stay with people long after they leave.

Food as hospitality

Gastronomy has always been central to Sanssouci. Since 2001, our team has taught more than 10,000 guests through private, hands-on cooking experiences rooted in the connections between culture, ingredients, history, and the table.

We have worked with leading chefs, cookbook authors, television producers, restaurateurs, and international publications, building a deep practical expertise in food-led travel and memorable dining.

At Sanssouci Palatina, that experience comes into a new landscape: the vineyards, forests, orchards, villages, and wine traditions of the Palatinate. The kitchen is full-board, seasonal, nourishing, and generous. It is food as hospitality: not performance, but care.

Women-centred wellness

Our philosophy is simple. We believe hospitality can be a form of care.

To centre women is to shape a house around qualities too often treated as secondary: nourishment, rest, beauty, embodied wellbeing, emotional intelligence, reciprocity, and stewardship. It is not a slogan. It is a way of hosting, cooking, designing, listening, and holding space.

Our understanding of wellness is equally broad. Wellness is not only treatment, exercise, or discipline. It is the experience of being well-held: by food, by landscape, by movement, by quiet, by creative practice, by meaningful conversation, and by the rhythm of a house designed for renewal.

Sanssouci Palatina is a women-centred retreat hotel and gastronomic house where guests may rest, gather, eat well, move gently, create, recover, and return to themselves.

Sanssouci Palatina is open to resident guests only, with selected public events, dinners, talks, tastings, and classes to be announced separately over time.
